David Drew Clinic (DDC) provides botique medical "services to people of means" (a direct quote from their staff). Overall satisfaction with doctor marred by nightmare billing experience. Website & initial letter are not forthright about DDC billing: requires/demands full payment by cash/ check (thousands of dollars) which gives a $500 credit, charges $150 to pay with credit card, won't give costs/procedure codes until bill is paid in FULL, & doesn't participate with any insurance. They use Washington Radiology Associates, LabCorp, & Commonwealth Radiology. (Verify with vendors, BEFORE services, who’s billed for services & make changes.) Almost two months now and no correctly itemized statement that is suitable for submitting to insurance. Have learned recently that your medical bill is part of your medical record and that you are entitled to a copy of your medical record, regardless of whether you've paid for the services. HIPAA law states that "A provider cannot deny you a copy of your records because you have not paid for the health services you have received." So, both "people of means" & those less fortunate ... go to DDC at your own [financial] risk!
